Port Orchard’s Saturday Foot Ferry Ends Earlier—Plan the Bremerton Connection
See Saturday foot ferry times, the correct last departures, and practical return windows for a Seattle–Bremerton–Port Orchard day trip.

Last verified October 3, 2026.
The last Saturday foot ferry leaves Port Orchard for Bremerton at 7:30 p.m. The last boat in the opposite direction leaves Bremerton at 7:45 p.m. For a Seattle day trip, aim to leave Port Orchard at 6 or 7 p.m., rather than building your return around the final sailing. Kitsap Transit’s current timetable took effect September 28, 2026.

The scheduled crossing takes 12 minutes. These are Saturday, not weekday or Sunday, times. Source: Kitsap Transit.
The shortened evening schedule is part of the fall service changes reported by Seattle Transit Blog. The practical consequence: Port Orchard still works as a daytime outing, but a late dinner no longer fits comfortably with a ferry-only return.
From Seattle, you need two separate ferries
The Port Orchard Foot Ferry does not sail from Seattle. Your Saturday route is:
- Seattle’s Colman Dock → Bremerton: Walk aboard Washington State Ferries; the scheduled crossing is about 60 minutes.
- Bremerton → Port Orchard: Transfer to Kitsap Transit’s local foot ferry. Follow signs toward the Foot Ferries; allow time to leave the WSF boat, reach the local dock and queue.
WSDOT identifies Colman Dock as the Seattle departure terminal, and its fall 2026 Seattle–Bremerton schedule lists the sailings and crossing time. Kitsap Transit describes the foot-ferry gangway access at Bremerton.
Do not use the Bremerton Fast Ferry’s summer Saturday timetable. Its schedule effective September 28 lists Monday–Friday service only. Our Saturday Bremerton Fast Ferry guide explains the seasonal gap; the operator’s current schedule confirms it.

These planning options pair the current local timetable with WSF’s daily fall departures. All times below are p.m.
| Leave Port Orchard | Arrive Bremerton | Target WSF departure to Seattle | Time between boats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6:00 | 6:12 | 6:40 | 28 minutes |
| 7:00 | 7:12 | 7:55 | 43 minutes |
| 7:30—last local boat | 7:42 | 9:00 | 78 minutes |
Local ferry times · WSF departure times.
The last local boat nominally arrives just 13 minutes before the 7:55 p.m. WSF sailing. That is not a comfortable connection: WSDOT says walk-on passengers should already be aboard at least five minutes before departure. Use the 9 p.m. sailing as your planning target if you take that final local boat. These are timetable buffers, not guaranteed connections. WSF boarding guidance.
If you miss the 7:30 p.m. departure from Port Orchard, there is no later scheduled Saturday foot ferry to Bremerton. A later WSF sailing does not solve that first-leg gap.
For a manageable day, leave Seattle in the morning, keep lunch and a waterfront walk as your Port Orchard anchor, and return on the 6 or 7 p.m. boat. In rain, shorten the walk rather than pushing back your return. Check both operators’ schedules and alerts before leaving: Kitsap Transit currently warns that the local ferries are operating without a backup vessel until further notice. Current foot-ferry notice.
