Kitsap Route 108: Every 15 Minutes on Weekdays, With Weekend Limits

Route 108 runs every 15 minutes on weekday daytime trips and every 30 minutes on weekends. Check hours and connections from Seattle ferries.

Kitsap Transit Route 108–Bethel runs every 15 minutes on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., measured by departures from the Port Orchard Ferry Dock. On Saturdays and Sundays, it runs every 30 minutes, with shorter operating hours. Early and late weekday service is less frequent. These times come from the official Route 108 timetable, effective September 13, 2026.

When you can turn up without timing the bus

The September upgrade added 180 weekly trips and made Route 108 Kitsap Transit’s first frequent bus route, according to Seattle Transit Blog’s service-change report. For a visitor, the useful distinction is weekday daytime flexibility—not all-day, seven-day frequency.

Day or period Departures from Port Orchard Ferry Dock
Weekdays, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Every 15 minutes
Weekday early mornings About every 30 minutes; first departure 5:02 a.m.
Weekday evenings Every 30 minutes from 5:30–7:30 p.m., then one final departure at 8:30 p.m.
Saturdays Every 30 minutes, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Sundays Every 30 minutes, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

These are outbound terminal departures, not the times at every stop. The last return trips from Fred Meyer leave at 8:40 p.m. weekdays, 6:10 p.m. Saturdays and 4:12 p.m. Sundays. Use the Route 108 schedule for your direction and boarding stop.

Route 108 serves the Port Orchard Ferry Dock, Bethel Avenue, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Mitchell Avenue and South Kitsap High School. It is useful if your destination is along that corridor; it is not a direct bus from Bremerton or Southworth.

How to combine it with a Seattle ferry arrival

For this connection, travel Seattle → Bremerton → Port Orchard → Route 108. The Port Orchard foot ferry generally runs every 30 minutes during weekday daytime, with a scheduled 12-minute crossing from Bremerton.

A workable weekday morning sequence is:

  • Take the 8:40 a.m. Bremerton Fast Ferry from Seattle’s Pier 50, scheduled to arrive at 9:10 a.m.
  • Allow time to disembark and transfer; choose the 9:45 a.m. foot ferry, arriving in Port Orchard at 9:57 a.m.
  • Aim for the 10:15 a.m. Route 108, scheduled to reach Fred Meyer at 10:27 a.m., rather than relying on the three-minute connection to the 10 a.m. bus.

Those are scheduled times, not guaranteed connections: check the Fast Ferry timetable, foot ferry timetable and bus schedule before leaving. Kitsap Transit asks Fast Ferry passengers to arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. Check rider alerts as well as timetables.

The return ferry still needs a plan

The frequent bus does not make the whole trip turn-up-and-go. The Bremerton Fast Ferry has no weekend service in its current fall schedule, and weekday Seattle-bound sailings have a long gap between 8:05 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Check its departures before choosing your return.

For a Saturday outing, use Washington State Ferries’ Seattle–Bremerton schedule, then time the half-hourly foot ferry and bus. Choose the return crossing first, as in our three-part ferry-day plan. Route 108 gives you weekday flexibility on land; the boats still set the boundaries of the day.
